Brimah set for surgery on Friday
UConn freshman center Amida Brimah will have surgery on his left shoulder on Friday morning to repair a torn labrum.
The procedure will be done at the UConn Health Center in Farmington. His recovery period is expected to last four to five months.
Brimah, a native of Ghana, led the team in blocks with 92. He averaged 4.1 points and 3.0 rebounds while appearing in all 40 games for the national champions.
His left shoulder bothered him during the season. It was determined that surgery was necessary to fix the problem following a recent MRI.
