Lyme-Old Lyme students charged in suspected bullying incident over text messages
Old Lyme — Police charged two Lyme-Old Lyme High School students earlier this month after the students "exchanged text messages that were deemed to be bullying in nature," according to a Troop F state police report.
A 15-year-old female was charged on April 9 on Lyme Street with breach of peace and threatening, while a 14-year-old female was charged with non-assaultive and non-threatening breach of peace, police said.
The students' names were not disclosed because they are minors. Lyme-Old Lyme High School Principal Jim Wygonik said Friday that he cannot comment on confidential student matters.
