In April 22 issue, the newspaper struck a decidedly racist note while commenting on the desire to enter into the realm of online voting. The editorial, "With online voter registration, no excuses," stated that there should be no excuses regarding implementing this new voting practice. Where the obvious racism of the Day's editorial staff slyly enters the picture, is not in calling for this form of voting, rather it was in the editorial's claim that fears of voter fraud were unfounded since motor vehicle registration would be used.
The Day has said in the past that Republican's call for using identification such as a driver's licenses to ensure that there is no voter fraud smacks of racism. Now they call for that same use of identification in order to assure voting security online! So there it is for all to see. But which is it, racism or politically motivated hypocrisy?
