There is an effective drug to fight heroin

I am an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a private practice in Groton. I see many clients who have addictions to include but not limited to heroin. I have read the recent articles in The Day and I'm surprised that the treatment of vivitrol manufactured by Alkermes Pharmaceutical company that deters cravings for alcohol as of 1995 and opiates as of 2010 has not been mentioned as a form of treatment. I have used this product with great success. It is an injection that is time released and it lasts for one month. It is recommended to have the treatment for at least six months, however it can be used longer if necessary.
