Weather not expected to stop Morgan's trip to New London

The Morgan is scheduled to leave the Mystic Seaport at 9:15 a.m. Saturday. While rain is expected Saturday, only a “drastic change in the forecasted weather conditions” would delay the trip, the Seaport said Friday afternoon. Any postponement because of weather will be posted at and

There will be a brief farewell ceremony in the Seaport Shipyard at 8:45 a.m. with Rep. Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, and other dignitaries. The Morgan is scheduled to arrive at City Pier in New London at about 2 p.m. It will remain in New London for about a month before leaving for a tour of New England ports.
