Millstone 2 back to 100 percent power
Waterford – Unit 2 at the Millstone Power Station returned to 100 percent power-generating capacity today, four days after both it and Unit 3 were forced to shut down due to a short in transmission lines that provide electricity to plant operating systems.
The restart of Unit 2, the smaller and older of the two operating nuclear reactors at the power station, began on Wednesday. Ken Holt, spokesman for Millstone, said Unit 3 remains offline as evaluations and repairs are made to systems impacted by the shutdown.
