Waterford man to serve year in prison in child porn case

A 35-year-old Waterford man pleaded guilty today in New London Superior Court to having numerous images of child pornography on his computer.

Brian J. Hague will be sentenced June 24 to a year in prison followed by 10 years of strict probation for third-degree possession of child pornography and will be required to register as a sex offender.

Hague was living on South Beach Road in East Lyme when members of the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit launched an investigation into his Internet activity in August 2011. The unit obtained a warrant and seized a Sony notebook computer from his home that they said contained hundreds of child pornography images, including some that depicted the sexual abuse of known child victims, ages 4 through 12.

Hague had been on active duty with the Connecticut National Guard and said he had suffered psychological issues, according to prosecutor Theresa Anne Ferryman. He has been free on a $50,000 bond while his case was pending and is represented by attorney TJ Morelli-Wolfe.
