Amistad belongs here
In regard to the article, "Amistad will be a no-show for Sailfest this weekend" (July 9), Hanifa Washington should consider the schooner's educational mission. The Amistad's history begs to be told at Sailfest, highlighting the story of 53 Africans who endured unimaginable travails. Reports from The Day or anyone should never trump Amistad's story and incredible history. I implore Ms. Washington to bring Amistad to Sailfest.
