Norwich police charge convicted felon in Dunkin' Donuts robbery
Norwich — Police arrested a city man Friday on charges stemming from the discovery of a stolen handgun at his residence.
Giovanny Nazario, 32, with a last known address at 8 Carter Ave., faces charges of interfering with an officer, criminal possession of a firearm and theft of a firearm.
Based on a tip, members of the police department’s narcotics unit executed a search warrant at Nazario’s residence Friday where they said they found a .22 caliber handgun reported stolen during a residential burglary in Franklin last year.
Because of his criminal convictions, including drug sales charges, Nazario is barred from possessing a firearm.
Nazario remained held in lieu of a $250,000 bond and is slated to appear Aug. 13 in Norwich Superior Court.
