Friends present Bruce Carpenter Memorial Benefit

The Green Marble Coffee Shop in downown Mystic is a civic magnet that has attracted townies and tourists for more than two decades. In June, owner/patriarch Bruce Carpenter - a longtime Stonington resident and former biology teacher at Plainfield High School - passed away unexpectedly. On Saturday, numerous musical friends will gather and present the Bruce Carpenter Memorial Benefit Concert at the German Club in Mystic. On the bill: Anderson Family Picnic, The Feels, I Left My Gun in San Francisco, Matt Gouette, Doll Steak, Crime, Riki Rocksteady, Debcaster and We Got Mouths.

Performances start at 6 p.m. and it's an all-ages event with a $5 admission. All proceeds go to Carpenter's wife, Lisa. The German Club is at 54 Greenmanville Ave., Mystic.
