New London police charge driver after car versus pedestrian accident at Fishers Island Ferry terminal
New London — Police charged a man in connection with an accident Friday morning in the parking lot of the Fishers Island Ferry terminal in which a woman and her 2-year-old child were hit.
Sherief Ayoub of Scottsdale, Ariz., was charged with reckless driving following the 11:35 a.m. incident. Police said Ayoub was trying to catch the 11:30 a.m. ferry; witnesses reported seeing a vehicle speeding through the parking lot when the accident occurred.
The unidentified mother and child were taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
