Bank robbery reported in Mystic

Mystic — Stonington police are searching for a man who they say pointed a gun at a teller at 11:24 a.m. Friday and robbed the People’s United Bank at 12 Roosevelt Ave.
Police said the man also handed the teller a note demanding money. He then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash in an unknown direction. There were no injuries.
The man is described as possibly African-American or Hispanic, in his late 20s to early 30s with a heavy build, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall with a short trimmed beard. He was wearing a baseball cap, long-sleeved grey shirt, dark pants and dark shoes.

Police were able to get a photo of the man from the bank’s surveillance cameras.
