Waterford wins Babe Ruth 15 state title

Waterford — Waterford rallied from a 3-0 deficit to beat Stamford 6-4 in the Connecticut Babe Ruth Baseball 15-year-old state tournament final Saturday.

Waterford, the District 6 champion, advances to the New England tournament at Manchester, N.H., which begins Saturday, Aug. 2. The state title was the 13th for the Waterford program — and the fourth in the 15-year-old division.

Corey Conderino and Justin Keating homered for Waterford and Steve Gerovitz and Tyler Howser combined to pitch a seven-hitter, with Howser getting the win in relief.
