Enslow campaign files second complaint in District 47 race

The campaign of Noah Enslow in the Aug. 12 Republican primary for the 47th District state House of Representatives nomination filed a second election complaint Thursday against opponent Doug Dubitsky alleging he misused a public access cable television show to promote his candidacy and solicit volunteers for the campaign.

Enslow, Dubitsky and Michael Meadows are in a three-way race for the party endorsement to challenge incumbent Democrat Brian Sear for the 47th District seat. The district covers the entire towns of Canterbury, Chaplin, Franklin, Hampton, Scotland and Sprague and parts of Lisbon, Lebanon and Norwich.

In a press release announcing the complaint Thursday, Enslow accused Dubitsky, a regular co-host on Charter Communications' Public Access show "Eye on Connecticut," displayed lawn signs within the studio during several live episodes, solicited for volunteers, and promoted himself as a candidate for votes in the Aug. 12 Republican primary.

Enslow said he filed the complaint with the state Elections Enforcement Commission saying Dubitsky violated the Citizens' Election Program, which awarded grants to all three candidates in the race, and violated campaign finance laws.

Dubitsky said Thursday he hasn't seen the complaint and could not comment.
