    Candidates for 20th Senate District to debate

    Betsy Ritter and Bill Satti will participate in a political debate at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in the lower-level meeting room of the Waterford Public Library, at 49 Rope Ferry Road.

    The two are facing off in the Aug. 12 Democratic primary to fill the 20th Senate District seat being vacated by retiring state Sen. Andrea Stillman.

    The debate is being co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Southeastern Connecticut and the Waterford library.

    Ritter is a 10-year state representative from Waterford and Bill Satti is chairman of the New London Democratic Town Committee and director of community affairs and public relations for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

    Questions for the candidates will be collected at the door.

    The 20th Senate District encompasses Bozrah, East Lyme, Montville, New London, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Salem and Waterford.
