Waterford man dies in overnight scooter crash on Gold Star Bridge
Groton - A Waterford man died early Monday morning when police said the scooter he was riding on the Gold Star Memorial highway pedestrian walkway struck a concrete barrier, ejecting him from the vehicle.
Police said the accident was reported at 12:54 a.m. when a pedestrian came upon the unresponsive male and his scooter.
The man, later identified at Edward Gladue Jr., 52, of 204 Butlertown Road, was take to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, where he later died of severe head injuries, police said.
