United Way seeks school supplies

United Way of Southeastern Connecticut is conducting a school supply drive through Aug. 22, and invites local individuals, groups and businesses to donate school supplies or run a drive to collect items. All items will be distributed to schools in the county to help local teachers and students.

Feedback from teachers has indicated the following items are most needed by their students: flash/thumb drives, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, rulers, binders and loose leaf paper.

Collected supplies should be dropped off at United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, 283 Stoddards Wharf Road in Gales Ferry, on Friday, Aug. 22; or bring donations to the Connecticut Sun basketball game on Sunday, Aug. 17. Collection bins will be available near the entrances to the arena.
