Waterford — Police arrested a New London man who they say stabbed another person during a fight Tuesday night at the Family Bowl on Boston Post Road.

Around 11 p.m. police received a report of a fight in the bar area of the establishment, police said. When police arrived, they discovered a victim with superficial stab wounds to his abdomen. The victim refused medical treatment, police said.

The alleged suspect, German Gonzalez, 32, of 99 Willetts Ave., saw police and took off on a motor scooter through the parking lot and crashed on Route 1. He was not injured.

Gonzalez was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, engaging an officer in pursuit and possession of a controlled substance.

Gonzalez is being held on a $25,000 bond, pending his arraignment today in New London Superior Court.
