Behind the 'Burning'

Derron Wood, executive artistic director of Flock Theatre, will speak on Friday, Aug. 22, at the Hempsted Houses in New London on the city's annual lampooning of Benedict Arnold and the development of the production. Flock has worked with several historic sites to bring theatrical productions to museum grounds.

Wood's talk will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The Hempsted Houses, at 11 Hempstead St., will open at 5 p.m. The suggested donation is $5 per person. Light refreshments will be served.

Flock's Burning of Benedict Arnold Festival will be held on Sept. 5 and 6, the 233rd anniversary of the attack on Groton and New London. Flock will stage performances at the Hempsted Houses and the Shaw Mansion on Sept. 6.
