Howdy,

This year’s playoff format, as you know, is going to be a bit funky.

Should you not be in the know, here goes:

The top eight teams in four divisions will qualify for states, as has been the case since 2010.

The eight teams in each division will be split in half using last year’s enrollment figures. The four biggest teams will be in one subdivision, the smaller four in the other.

Each subdivision will have a semifinal round and a final.

Eight state champions will be crowned.

It’s not as complex as it sounds. Really.

As a public service, here are the enrollments for every team in each of the four divisions.

The four biggest and smallest teams in each division are separated from the rest. This gives you a small idea as to which teams will be in the larger or small subdivisions.
