State police arrested six Connecticut residents on Wednesday, including a 31-year-old Norwich resident, during a statewide sweep of alleged sexual predators.

Detectives from the state police’s Computer Crimes Unit, which is in charge of the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, conducted an investigation that spanned several years and yielded arrest warrants throughout the state.

During Wednesday’s roundup, Jaysen Timothy Puerta, of 17 Taftville-Occum Road, Norwich, was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography, promoting a minor in an obscene performance and importing child pornography material. He was released on a $35,000 bond and is due in Norwich Superior Court on Sept. 4.

Others arrested are:

James Kyle Bidwell, 20, of Manchester was charged with second-degree possession of pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance.

Eric Von Korn, 33, of Bridgeport was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance.

Pedro Cambisaca, 30, of New Haven was charged with third-degree possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance.

Eli Echevarria, 56, of New Haven was charged with third-degree possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance.

Edwin Alton Scotton, 62, of Suffield was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance.

The State Police Bureau of criminal investigation and U.S. Department of Homeland Security assisted in the arrests.
