Handling of disasters not the primary issue

The Day editorial, "Malloy not wrong citing handling of crises," (Aug. 15), references the governor's response to natural disasters. It mentions other governors who have responded. Most of this country's leaders respond to such calamities, but do they make an issue of it at election time? Perhaps when they have very little else to say. With such a poor economy, Mr. Malloy uses such expediency. What the middle class needs is a viable economy; not a spend and tax program that makes Connecticut a terrible place to live.

The Amistad fiasco is an example of such poor administration. How many more Amistads exist? Are the OPM and attorney general asleep? The Jackson Labs experiment is another delusion of grandeur and irrational spending. These are the issue the middle class needs better explanations.
