Power outage reported in Huntington Street area of New London

New London – A crew from Connecticut Light & Power is investigating the cause of a power outage that as of 8 p.m. had knocked out power to more than 100 customers.

The power outage has impacted homes in the area of Huntington Street, near Interstate 95, a CL&P spokesman said.

In an unrelated incident, CL&P crews were headed to Groton at 7:45 p.m. for reports of a tree or tree limb that fell onto power lines on Yetter Road, police said. A portion of Yetter Road, between Godfrey and Rogers roads, is temporarily closed, police said. Power to homes in Groton does not appear to be affected.
