Police: Roads passable, but still snow covered
The blizzard may be gone, but that doesn’t mean that the cleanup is over.
Both state and local police are reporting that plow drivers were called overnight to clear the roadways.
Portions of Interstate 395 are reduced to one lane as gusting winds pushed snow drifts onto the highway.
Southeastern Connecticut received the brunt of Tuesday’s blizzard. Snowfall totals ranged between 20 and 28 inches.
The National Weather Service said today it will be blistering cold. The high temperature will be around 23 degrees, but with the wind chill it will feel more like -5 degrees.
The weather service said another round of snow is going to enter the region Thursday night into Friday morning. That storm is expected to bring another 1 to 2 inches of snow.
