Car fire closes lane of Interstate 95 in East Lyme
East Lyme — One lane of Interstate 95 southbound was closed during a portion of Thursday morning's commute, as state police and local fire companies worked to clear the remains of a car fire between Exits 74 and 73.
The incident, which occurred about 8:30 a.m., resulted in a traffic backup through the Interstate 395 interchange.
No injuries were reported, according to state police. A wrecker was on the scene at 8:40 a.m.
