    USS Alexandria Class joins the fleet

    Groton — Seventy-five sailors of "Class 15260" USS Alexandria (SSN-757), graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School on May 29.

    Seaman Andrew Moy was class honorman with a 99.15 GPA. Moy, who was also the recipient of the Navy Core Values Award for best exemplifying the standards and expectations of a U.S. Navy sailor, continues in Apprentice Team Training (ATT).

    Fireman Robert Chronister was recipient of the Submarine Heritage Award.

    Fireman Apprentice Francisco Manriquez was meritoriously advanced because of his academic performance.

    Seaman Apprentice Moussa Mikhail, Construction Mechanic Colton Barrett, Seaman Apprentice Aaron Lustenberger, Seaman Recruit Armando Garza, Seaman Apprentice Steven Snyderaskew, Seaman Anthony Lampman, Seaman Apprentice Krist Bharanyi, Seaman Apprentice Samuel Arnold, Seaman Apprentice Jared Fryzel, Machinist Mate 3rd Class Cedric Savage, Seaman Apprentice Michael Williams, and Electronics Technician 3rd Class Jeremiah Flom were named graduates with distinction.

    Basic Enlisted Submarine School is a six-week introduction to the basic theory, construction and operation of nuclear-powered submarines. In preparation for an assignment, sailors receive instruction on shipboard organization, submarine safety and escape procedures.
