Make a Difference: Covenant Shelter of New London
Who: Keith and Jane and their 5-year-old daughter, Kaylee, living in an emergency shelter in New London.
Agency: Covenant Shelter of New London
Their situation: Keith lost his job more than a year ago and the family was forced to move in with his sister in Norwich. When his sister moved earlier this year out of state, the family became homeless. Their only option was to come to the shelter. Both parents work part-time, alternating shifts to cover child care, but are unable to find an affordable home or cover upfront costs such as security deposit and first month's rent.
What to give: Winter clothes for their 5-year-old daughter, who wears a size 6-7, gas cards to help them get to and from work, and gift cards for Wal-Mart or any local supermarket.
To Donate: Contact the Covenant Shelter at (860) 443-0537, or mail to Covenant Shelter, 42 Jay St., New London, 06320, attention of the director.
