Naked man leads police, fire personnel on chase through New London

New London — Public safety personnel on Wednesday morning briefly chased a naked man through city streets after he ran from fire officials, police said.

According to police, officers were called to assist firefighters with a medical call on Vauxhall Street at 6:16 a.m. Police learned a 29-year-old man who was naked had run away from the responding firefighters.

Working together, firefighters and police eventually detained the man at the intersection of Vauxhall and Colman streets.

Crews took the man to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for medical evaluation.
