Girl on nationwide trip to hug police stops in Providence
PROVIDENCE — A Louisiana girl traveling to all 50 states to hug police officers has made a stop in Providence, Rhode Island.
WPRI-TV reports that 7-year-old Rosalyn Baldwin met with officers Monday and sat in during roll call at the Providence Public Safety Complex.
Rosalyn's mother, Angie Baldwin, says her daughter was inspired to make the trip after officers were killed in ambush attacks in Dallas last year and again in her home state.
Rhode Island was the 17th state Rosalyn has visited for her "Rosalyn Loves" mission.
