Crash temporarily closes portion of Route 32 in Waterford
Waterford — Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening following a rear-end collision on the southbound side of Route 32 in the Quaker Hill section of Waterford.
One car with two occupants rear-ended a utility truck in the area of Scotch Cap Road. The driver of the car suffered what appeared to be a broken ankle, along with bumps and bruises, said Quaker Hill Fire Chief Matthew Carson. The man’s passenger, a young female, did not appear to be injured.
The man was taken by a Cohanzie Fire Department ambulance to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the utility truck was transported by an Oswegatchie Fire Department ambulance for a complaint of neck pain.
Route 32, which was closed after the accident occurred, was partially reopened shortly before 6 p.m. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
