Magnificent night of theater at Waterford High

On the night of Nov. 3 at Waterford High School a fantastic spectacle of poetry and comedy came to life. The antics, the intertwined plots, the foibles of love all culminated in Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream."

Regular prose is difficult enough to memorize and act out, never mind blank verse or unrhymed iambic pentameter, which is the language of Shakespeare. Yet, the young actors were able to master the language of poetry and perform professionally and artistically. Blending with the Elizabethan time was a modern day twist with "Zorba, the Greek" and '70's music.

What a treat and theatrical accomplishment! Bravo to the young players and production staff. Bravo, Bravo to the brave director, Shane Valle.
