Skid Row plays free show Friday in Wolf Den

Most of the world was frozen over the summer when rumors bubbled that the classic original lineup of metal heroes Skid Row might reunite. What this mostly translates to is that vocalist Sebastian Bach — fired from the band 1996 — would be welcomed back by the other "classic" guys whose names I can't remember. Scotti and Snake are two of them, I think.

As it turns out, Bach claims to have been open to the reunion idea but, Snakey or Scott or maybe both said no — and the Earth is left with a Bach-less Skid Row. This doesn't mean the existing band isn't an above-average metal act with solid material from after the Bach era (as per relatively recent EPs with their latest — and 217th overall — singer, ZP Theart).

It just means you won't see Bach when Skid Row plays Friday in the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den. I'll tell you what, though. I'll bet this is a pretty great show.

Skid Row, 8 p.m. Friday, Mohegan Sun Wolf Den; free; 1-800-745-3000.
