    Lindsey Stirling dances into Foxwoods

Lindsey Stirling has been tearing it up on “Dancing with the Stars,” which shouldn’t be too surprising. Consider that (A), she is a violinist who dances while she plays — that's what her live performances consist of, and (B), she is matched with pro Mark Ballas on “Dancing with the Stars.” That guy knows how to bring out the best in his partners.

We’ll see if Stirling makes it all the way to the finals and gets to take home (let’s say it all together now) the coveted mirror-ball trophy.

In the meantime, she will be coming to Foxwoods on Saturday for her regular job as a solo artist. Her own publicity describes the music she plays as “cinematic violin-driven electronic music," and in recent shows, she's been backed by two fellow musicians and four dancers

And Stirling has quite a following. Her self-titled first album debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and was #1 on the classical album chart for 21 weeks. Her follow-up release, “Shatter Me,” went gold.

Note that the Foxwoods show is part of Stirling’s “Warmer in the Winter Christmas Tour,” so there are bound to be holiday songs in the offing.

And rumor has it that, on eight songs at this particular concert, Stirling will be accompanied by none other than the Waterford High School Chamber Orchestra.

Lindsey Stirling, 8 p.m. Saturday, Foxwoods’ Grand Theater; Alexander and Jean open; $30-$70; 1-800-200-2882.
