Stonington, East Lyme see power outages as winds pick up

East Lyme — Officials are asking motorists to avoid two local roads after trees and wires fell in the area.

According to East Lyme Public Safety, Mostoway Road and Lincoln Street are closed to traffic.

The closures come at the outset of a winter blast set to bring strong gusts and wind chills in the teens.

According to Eversource's outage map, 80 customers were without power in East Lyme at 2 p.m. An additional 233 Stonington customers were in the dark.
