Muscadine Bloodline plays Thursday in Wolf Den

A muscadine is a type of grape indigenous to the southern U.S. It's very similar to a grape called the scuppernong. When trying to symbolize their Alabama roots, the country music duo of Gary Stanton and Charlie Muncaster decided to call themselves Muscadine Bloodline, and we can all agree that sounds better than if they'd gone with Scuppernong Bloodline.

Anyway, now located in Nashville, Muscadine Bloodline season their nostalgic, wholesome and finely polished (if slightly generic) tunes with glorious harmonies. You can see what you think on their five-song, self-titled debut EP — the same one that caused Rolling Stone to include the act in their "10 New Country Artists You Need to Know in 2017."

Get to know Muscadine Bloodline when they peform a free show tonight in the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den.

Muscadine Bloodline, 8 p.m. Thursday, Mohegan Sun Wolf Den; free; 1-800-745-3000.
