It's a subtle thing, but a truly excellent album title can make me happy for a stupidly long time. I'll spare you a list of my favorites — you'd thank me — but I do want to point out that Dwight Yoakam is every bit as good at naming albums as he is writing, singing and interpreting country music.

Here are five all-world album titles from Yoakam's catalog:

1. "Buenas Noches from a Lonely Room"

2. "Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc."

3. "South of Heaven, West of Hell"

4. "Hillbilly Deluxe"

5. "Dwight's Used Records" (a greatest hits compilation)

Yoakam, whose live shows are exceedingly fine as well, performs Saturday in the Fox Theater at Foxwoods. In addition to a wealth of hits, he might break out a little bluegrass since his last album focused on that particular genre. Oh, and what's the bluegrass album called? Why, "Swimmin' Pools, Movie Stars ..." Brilliant.

Dwight Yoakam, 8 p.m. Friday, Fox Theater, Foxwoods; $55; 1-800-200-2882.
