Route 1 reopened in Waterford after morning crash

Waterford — A portion of state Route 1 was closed for about six hours Tuesday morning after a truck crashed into a telephone pole and snapped it in half, police said.

The closure spanned from Cross Road to Niantic River Road. Crews reopened the road just before noon.
