Waterford boys' hoop, Eagles hockey postponed; CIAC announces hoop finals schedule
Tuesday's entire CIAC tournament schedule was postponed by the snowstorm, including two semifinals featuring local teams.
The Division III boys' basketball semifinal between Waterford and Hartford's Prince Tech has been rescheduled for Wednesday at North Haven High School, beginning at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on theday.com.
The Division III hockey semifinal between the Eastern CT Eagles and Staples has been moved to Thursday. The game, played at Yale's Ingalls Rink, will begin at 7:30 p.m.
In addition, the Class M and Class S boys' swimming championships have been moved to Wednesday at the Cornerstone Aquatics Center in West Hartford. The Class M meet will start at 1:30 p.m., with Class S scheduled for 6 p.m.
The CIAC also announced the times and dates for its boys’ and girls’ basketball finals at Mohegan Sun Arena this weekend. The schedule is as follows (the boys’ finalists have yet to be determined):
Saturday: girls’ Class S — Coginchaug vs. Sports Sciences, 10 a.m.; boys’ Division V, 12:30 p.m.; girls’ Class M — Career vs. East Haven, 3 p.m.; girls’ Class LL — Hall vs. Mercy, 6:15 p.m.; boys’ Division II, 8:30 p.m.
Sunday: boys’ Division III, 10:30 a.m.; girls’ Class L — Farmington vs. RHAM, 1 p.m.; boys’ Division IV, 3:30 p.m.; boys’ Division I, 6 p.m.
