Elizabeth Esty, D-5th District, a supporter of the #MeToo movement against sexual assault and harassment, has fallen under heavy criticism in recent weeks after reports that Tony Baker, her chief of staff, on multiple occasions had harassed — and even once punched, as well as threatened to kill — a subordinate, Anna Kain, while the two were working in Esty's office. In the wake of the revelations, Esty has announced she will not seek re-election.
