Listen to wisdom and call of conscience

In their letters, Harry Leiser and Mark I. Fishman claim that Palestinians in Gaza were used as human shields by Hamas terrorists. Even if this were true, which I doubt, imagine the depravity, the moral decadence of thinking that Israel was then justified in killing a 12-year old boy and 119 others.

Apparently, they've never heard of Kant's "categorical imperative" or the summation of the Law in the book of Leviticus, "love your neighbor as you love yourself" or Rabbi Hillel's beautiful wisdom "to save one life is the same as saving the whole human race." Maybe they need to stand on one leg and remember their sacred identities.

Harry Leiser, a former President of the Jewish Federation of Eastern Connecticut and Mark I. Fishman, President of Primer are a mouthpiece for Israel's Haspera (propaganda). Sadly, these defenders of Israel's massacre have allowed themselves to be what the prophet Ezekiel meant when he said, "Your prophets, O Israel, are like jackals among the ruins." Those such as Leiser and Fishman are destroying the very soul of that which they claim to support. They would do well as we all would to listen to the wisdom and the call of conscience of such Israeli journalists as Gideon Levy and Amira Hass.
