Police: Norwich man thrown from motorcycle in I-395 crash

Montville — A Norwich man was thrown from his motorcycle Sunday evening after he crashed into the back of a pickup truck on Interstate 395 north, state police said.

Police said 38-year-old Shawn Taylor landed in the left shoulder after striking the Ram 1500 ST around 8 p.m. near the Troop E barracks. Both vehicles were traveling in the left of two lanes.

Taylor’s motorcycle, a Suzuki GSX-R750, hopped the guardrail and landed in the southbound median.

Police said Taylor was not wearing a helmet.

Crews took Taylor to The William W. Backus Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Carl Pasteryak, the 67-year-old Lisbon resident who was driving the pickup, was not injured. His truck could be driven from the scene.
