Ledyard — Police on Thursday morning arrested a Ledyard man for operating J&K Towing despite having been denied a license by the state Department of Motor Vehicles.

Police said Kyle Hair, 38, of 194 Whalehead Road, has been charged with operating a repair shop without a license.

Police said they received a complaint on Feb. 22 that a person pre-paid money for repairs on a vehicle but the vehicle was not repaired.

Hair was released on a written promise to appear in court and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on July 26.
