Nick DeLucia, Marine Corps veteran who ran for the 139th House District seat, dies
Norwich — Nick DeLucia, a recent candidate for the 139th District seat in the state House of Representatives and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, died Monday afternoon, Republican Town Chairwoman Linda Becker confirmed Tuesday.
"He'll be missed greatly," Becker said Tuesday night. "He was an asset to the Republican party and as a member of Norwich overall."
DeLucia, 34, a native of Norwich, was a sales manager for AT&T and vice president of AT&T's veterans employee resource group for Connecticut and New England. He graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 2003.
DeLucia and his wife, Maryn, and their 5-year-old daughter moved to Norwich and bought a house there in 2016. His brother, Joseph DeLucia, serves as an alderman on the Norwich City Council.
DeLucia lost his bid to unseat state Rep. Kevin Ryan, a Montville Democrat, in last month's elections, losing by 507 votes.
