    Teen charged in grandparents' murder

Marcus Fisher (Provided by State Police)

Montville —  A Minnesota teen was charged with stabbing and killing his grandparents in their Morgan Street home, according to information from state police and sources close to the investigation.

Police said they went to the home at 4:47 a.m. Monday.

On Tuesday, state police announced that Marcus Fisher, 18, was charged with two counts of murder, second-degree arson and murder with special circumstances. He is being held on a $1 million bond, pending his arraignment today in Superior Court in New London. Sources close to the investigation said Fisher was visiting from Cottage Grove, Minn. He was not attending Montville schools, sources said.

Police did not identify the victims but land records link John and Gertrude Piscezek, 76 and 77, respectively, to the home at 26 Morgan St. They were Fisher's grandparents.

During a Monday news conference, Trooper 1st Class Tanya Compagnone confirmed one woman and one man died and said the suspect is a man. She did not release their identities.

Compagnone said the suspect was at the home when police arrived at 4:47 a.m. but couldn’t say whether he lived there. She wouldn’t say whether he called 911 or someone else did, and wouldn’t comment on how or whether he is related to the victims.

Compagnone said autopsies are scheduled for Tuesday. Until then, police are not commenting on the cause and manner of each death, she said.

Police don’t yet know how long the bodies had been in the home. Compagnone said she couldn’t comment on whether investigators had recovered any weapons.

The state police Eastern District Major Crime Squad is investigating.
