Saint Bernard School names January students of the month

Aubree Nygaard of East Haddam and Katie Power of Mystic were named the January Students of the Month at Saint Bernard School, recognized for exhibiting the Xaverian Brothers spiritual values of humility, trust, zeal, compassion and simplicity.

Nygaard, a sixth-grader, was noted for her kindness and conscience. She is a member of Girls Who Code, the middle school basketball team and the middle school band.

Power, a freshman, was noted for advocating for herself and others in need. She is a member of the high school indoor track team, drama club, praise choir and band.
