Norwich school board seeks public input in superintendent search

Norwich – The Board of Education invites residents, parents and public school staff to answer a detailed online survey to provide input in the search for a new superintendent now underway.

The survey is available through Feb. 22 through the school website, www.norwichpublischools.org or directly at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3XKR68X.

Superintendent Abby Dolliver will retire June 30. The Board of Education has appointed itself as the superintendent search committee and is working with consulting firm New England School Development Council to conduct the search. Applications are due March 6.

Survey participants will be asked to choose five of 16 listed qualities and characteristics most important for the superintendent and answer why they chose those qualities. Other open questions ask respondents to describe the greatest challenges for the first 12 months of the next superintendent's term and to offer additional comments to the Board of Education.

The survey input will be analyzed and included in a candidate profile the board will use to guide its selection of the next superintendent.

Comment threads are monitored for 48 hours after publication and then closed.
