    H.S. softball: Montville's Michon no-hits St. Bernard

    Montville — Alexis Michon pitched a no-hitter as unbeaten Montville High School rolled to a 15-0, five-inning softball victory over St. Bernard on Tuesday afternoon.

    Michon, who has not allowed an earned run in her last three outings, struck out 14 for the Indians (4-0). She also tripled, homered and drove in seven runs.

    Maggie Wainwright added two hits and two runs and Rori Curran had a two-run triple for Montville. St. Bernard is 1-2.

    In other games:

    • Sixth-ranked Norwich Free Academy remained unbeaten with a 17-1, six-inning win over Bacon Academy. Hailee Schrader went 4-for-4 with a triple and solo home run for the Wildcats (4-0) while Brooke Gotshall was 3-for-3 with two RBI, Sarah Cote had a double, home run, three walks and four RBI and Bailey Comeau was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Sophia DiCocco was the winning pitcher, allowing only two hits and no earned runs while striking out nine.

    • Waterford scored a pair of runs in the seventh inning to rally for a 4-3 victory over Fitch. Rachel Miller went 3-for-3 and drove in a run for the Lancers (3-2). She was also the winning pitcher, scattering nine hits in a complete-game effort while striking out four. Angelina Doak went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI for Fitch (1-3), which scored all of its runs in the third to take a 3-1 lead, while Casey Flax went 2-for-4.

    • Tori LoPresto and Maggie Constantine had three hits apiece as Stonington defeated East Lyme 9-4. LoPresto was 3-for-4 with a double an RBI for the Bears (2-1) while Constantine was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Olivia Quagan had three hits and scored a run for the Vikings (1-4).

    • Caylee Parker struck out 10, including two in the seventh inning, as New London held off Wheeler 7-6. Cassandra Roman hit a two-run homer for the Whalers (4-1) while Joe Potter was 2-for-2 with a triple and run scored and Bria Fielding doubled and scored a run. Molly Butremovic and Savannah Galluci each had a double and run scored for Wheeler (0-4).

    • Cassidy Standish pitched a one-hitter and Maddie Cann went 4-for-4, including a three-run homer, as Old Lyme defeated Portland 20-0 in five innings in the Shoreline Conference. Standish walked one and struck out six for the Wildcats (2-1) while Cann finished with four RBI and three runs scored. Gracy Lathrop added two hits, two runs and four RBI with a two-run triple while Alison Ward was 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.
