The city is considering a long-term lease with building owner Julian Enterprises in order to consolidate its offices and vacate several city-owned buildings. The city would retain and renovate City Hall as part of the plan.
The city is attempting to cut maintenance costs with the move. Under the plan, the city would consolidate numerous city departments — including some from City Hall — under one roof while selling off the Richard R. Martin Center at 120 Broad St., the finance building at 13-15 Masonic St. and the Stanton Building at 111 Union St. The Martin Center is already for sale.
About 65 employees would be involved in the move.
