New London Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee to meet Monday
New London — The Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee will hold its monthly meeting today at 7 p.m. in the City Council Ante Room. The meeting is open to the public.
Items on the agenda include reports for upcoming events the committee will be engaged in over the summer such as Sailfest. The committee will set up an informational booth on veteran issues and awareness for the two-day event.
On Aug. 17, the New London Veterans Affairs office, the city and Ocean Beach Park will host its second annual Military Appreciation Day. This event is a day when the beach is open to all active duty, retired military, veterans and their families. Access for the day's event is by showing some form of military, reserve, retired military, veteran status ID or DD214 at either of the gates.
