Niantic woman charged with manslaughter, DUI in July death of motorcyclist
East Lyme — East Lyme police have arrested a Niantic woman in connection with the July 28 car-versus-motorcycle crash that killed 42-year-old Frank Barabas of Montville, according to an incident summary Chief Michael Finkelstein provided.
Kimberly Zoller, 37, of 3 Spinnaker Way has been charged with second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and making an improper turn.
Officers had obtained an arrest warrant for Zoller because of their investigation into the accident and arrested her about 2 p.m. Thursday, police said. Zoller was processed and released on a $25,000 bond, and she is scheduled to appear in court again Oct. 24.
The crash occurred about 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, and Barabas was pronounced dead at the scene.
